FORGET ABOUT TOMORROW opening tomorrow evening

Gabriola Players is thrilled to be launching its 2018/19 season with four staged readings of Jill Daum’s incredibly moving play Forget About Tomorrow.

Daum, whose husband, Spirit of the West singer John Mann, fell victim to Alzheimer’s, knows from personal experience how devastating the disease can be for entire families. This is the subject her play tackles with warmth, pathos and a surprising amount of humour.

Forget About Tomorrow premiered at the Belfry Theatre in Victoria earlier this year, followed by a run in Vancouver.

According to one reviewer, the “characters are vivid and tangible because they take their shape from Daum’s lived experiences, even though the story itself is fiction. There’s tremendous joy on the page, even in the heaviest moments, and Daum has a gift for deliciously wicked quips, which helps make Forget About Tomorrow an exquisite balancing act of comedy and tragedy, reality and fiction.”
