Gabriola Players is enormously saddened by the news that this week we lost an old and very dear friend. Lawrence Spero, past president and long-time member and supporter was a guiding light – in many ways.
Not only did he lead on lighting many of our shows, but he also appeared in some, beginning with Inherit the Wind. He enthusiastically embraced our foray into Shakespeare, delighting audiences with his Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and as Feste in Twelfth Night.
Lawrence was an immensely kind man who will be missed by many here on Gabriola and further afield. We feel privileged to call him a friend.
Our thoughts are with his wife Tessa and their children Claire and Michael.
