What does the Lighting Designer do?

The Lighting Designer collaborates with the Director but is responsible to the Producer and Set Director.

 

Early in the Process:

  1. Collaborates with Director on establishing a lighting design.
  2. Collaborates with Costume and Set Designers on a colour palette
  3. Creates cue sheets.
  4. Attends production meetings as required.
  5. Works within a budget.

 

During Rehearsals:

  1. Attend rehearsals as needed.
  2. Attend tech and dress rehearsal to finalize lighting.

 

After the Run:

Supervise return of borrowed items.
