Rehearsals are well underway for our March production.
If you like art, you’ll love ART!
Set in Paris in the 1990s, ART is the story of old friends Serge, Marc and Yvan, whose relationships are tested to the breaking point when Serge spends “more than Yvan makes in a year” on a white painting by an up and coming artist. Marc is appalled and tries to recruit Yvan to his side. When Yvan attempts to play the peacemaker, both of his friends turn on him.
Gabriola Players will be staging four performances of this “funny, sophisticated, stylish, stimulating and moving” play, written by Yasmina Reza and directed by Jean Wyenberg. The cast features Jeff Malmgren as Serge, Tom Radcliffe as Marc and Ray Appel as Yvan.
Described by one reviewer as a “nonstop crossfire of crackling language, serious issues of life and art… like a marriage of Moliere and Woody Allen”, the play asks that age-old question “What is art?” whilst exploring the true nature of friendship.
Mark your calendars for the shows at the Rollo Centre on Thursday to Saturday, March 14 to 16 at 7pm and Sunday, March 17 at 2pm. Or, better yet, purchase tickets now by clicking here.
Please note that, for the safety of all, audience members are required to wear masks.
